commit window handles double-click strangely
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Have multiple files changed in a repo
- Go to commit them
- In the changes-made section, either:
- Click the same checkbox twice, quickly
- or, Click two different files (either the checkbox or the file name), quickly
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
What happens is that the second file opens, as if I had double-clicked that file.
- I don't think clicking checkboxes should ever lead to opening a diff, even if you double-click the same checkbox. Clicking checkboxes should only ever check or uncheck the box.
- I don't think clicking once each on two different files should act the same as double-clicking the second file. You should have to click the same file twice for it to count as a double-click.
I run into this problem often. When I go to make a commit, I'll scan down the list, clicking or unclicking the checkboxes of the files I want to commit together. Or, sometimes I ctrl-click or shift-click files to select multiple. Either way, if I do this too quickly, the diff opens, which is never what I want to do.
