clone on bare local repository fails
By tanj.t... on July 07, 2009 21:36 (imported from Google Code)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- create a bare repository ( git init --bare )
- clone it via context menu
What is the expected output?
repository would be cloned
What do you see instead?
clone failed with:
git.exe clone -v "Z:\Junk\junk.git" "C:\PowerCore\junk2"
fatal: 'Z:\Junk\junk.git" C:\PowerCore\junk2' does not appear to be a git
repository
Initialized empty Git repository in c:/PowerCore/junk2/.git/
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
TortoiseGit-0.8.1.0-32bit
msysgit: Git-1.6.3.2-preview20090608
XP Pro SP3
Please provide any additional information below.
I am able to clone the bare repo using msysgit bash and then I am able to
work with tortoise.
Looks like there is an extra " in the repo path.
