Windows XP: Initial "Git Clone..." from SVN Repository doesn't work
By cstimm... on July 13, 2009 10:18 (imported from Google Code)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Right-click in an empty folder; selecting "Git Clone..."
- Entering a SVN URL without the trailing "trunk" in the "Url:" field;
activating the "From SVN Repository" and the "trunk", "Tags", "Branch"
checkboxes - Clicking "Ok"
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect some sort of progress window. Instead, I get a small error message
window saying "Unknow error" (exactly without the trailing "n")
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows XP
tortoisegit 0.8.1.0
git 1.6.3.2.1299.gee46c (the current msysgit preview20090608 package)
When using this "git svn" from the command line directly, it works
correctly. Also, this SVN repository requires authentication, but I already
entered this in the first "git svn" command line test, so TortoiseGIT
shouldn't need those anymore.
Please provide any additional information below.
Is there anything I can do for getting more detailed debugging information?
I'm quite experienced with Linux, Git, Windows, but not with shell
extension programming. Feel free to send me anything more to test.
