Adding file extensions to root .gitignore
By 0fallenphoen... on July 05, 2012 07:27 (imported from Google Code)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Chose a file.
- From TortoiseGit menu select 'Add to ignore list' -> '*.ext'.
- Keep '.gitignore in the repository root' option.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Ignored extensions don't want to be added. When I chose containing folder, i see new line with only '/' character; when recursive, an empty line.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows XP SP3
TortoiseGit 1.7.11.0
git 1.7.11.msysgit.1
Please provide any additional information below.
It's only issue with repository root file. When using local .gitignore (i.e. inside files's folder), it works fine. Also fine with single file ignoring (not by extension).
