Shell context menu not detecting submodule if submodule name differs from submodule path

What steps will reproduce the problem?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: "Git Commit submodule" and "Show log of this folder" are shown
Actual: "Git Commit" is shown and "Show log of this folder" is absent
What version of TortoiseGit and msysgit are you using? On
what operating system?
TortoiseGit 1.8.8.0
msysgit 1.9.0
Win 7 x64
Please provide any additional information below.
If you look at .gitmodules carefully,
[submodule "html"]
path = doc/git/html
its name differs from its path.
