After resolving all merge conflicts, it's not obvious the project needs a commit

After solving all merge conflicts in TortoiseGit, I still couldn't commit
things with git. While TortoiseGit mentioned there were not conflicts,
git.exe still refused to pull/push changes.
As git newbee, it was not obvious to me I had to commit the working copy
first to mark it as resolved. Could you please implement this feature?
(e.g. a message box, or status message on the "resolve" dialog).
