TortoiseGitMerge shows for "Wrap Lines" "Column" value relative to wrapped line start
When in TortoiseGitMerge the "Wrap Lines" setting is active, the "Column" value at the bottom of the window is only relative to the start of the wrapped line instead of to the actual start of the line:
For example here "Column: 2" is reported, while the actual column value (when not wrapped) is 101.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Create a text file (name does not matter) with long lines of text, for example:
test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test
- Open the file in TortoiseGitMerge in some way, e.g. by comparing it with a different file (Explorer menu "TortoiseGit" > "Diff")
- Enable "Wrap Lines" in the toolbar
- Resize the window if necessary to make a line wrap
- Place the cursor in the wrapped line
❌ The "Column" value at the bottom of the window only shows the column position relative to the start of the wrapped line, but not the column position relative to the actual start of the line
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: When "Wrap Lines" is active, for wrapped lines the column value should be relative to the actual start of the line.
Actual: The "Column" value is only relative to the start of the wrapped line.
