32 shell extension should be made optional

What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Install TortoiseGit 1.7.2.0 on a x64 system
- Use an explorer like software (such as Total Commander)
- Right-click on a folder
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Only the 64-bit shell extension should appear. However both the 32 and the 64 appear since both are registered. I tried disabling the 32 ones but it looks like they are an alias.
This is highly annoying especially when dealing with multiple extensions.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.7.2.0
Win x64 SP1
